Sch\u00f6nbrunn Palace? But this is now, not then\u2026 not a scene from <em>Amadeus<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>And the person at the piano was his eldest daughter. He hadn\u2019t heard her play in years. When did she take it up again?\u00a0 Never\u00a0mind.\u00a0 Others were there to listen, too.\u00a0 Did the others know that he was her father?<\/p>\n<p>The piece began slow\u2026 what was it?\u00a0 It reminded him of how a rain begins on summer night.\u00a0 The air filled with an intense humidity, then the rain begins to pick its way thru the leaf laden trees. Softness before the storm is unleashed.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s one of the most soothing pieces he knew.\u00a0 He probably first heard it as a background\u00a0 to some old Warner Brothers cartoon! He stumbled trying to come up with the composer. Chopin? Hayden? No\u2026 it\u2019s Beethoven!\u00a0\u00a0Beethoven!\u00a0 <em>F\u0171r Elise<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>When did she learn this piece? Not a single flaw. She concluded, folded her hands and turned to polite applause.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He sees her beautiful smile.\u00a0 Her head tilts slightly, she blinks, takes a breath, clearly relieved and proud of her performance, she catches sight of him.\u00a0 Her eyes say it all \u201cDad, I did it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The sun?\u00a0 The music?\u00a0 It was eyes and\u00a0the radiant smile.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The sun poured into that corner of the room thru the oversized windows.\u00a0 He could have been sitting in a Palace.\u00a0 The Hermitage?
